Vous séjournerez à Nosy Be, une île au large de la côte nord-ouest de Madagascar. Nosy Be est la plus grande destination touristique de Madagascar. Il a des lacs volcaniques, des lémuriens, des récifs coralliens et bien plus encore !

Arrivée

Vous serez accueillis à votre arrivée le dimanche. Vous serez pris en charge par l’équipe locale et transféré à votre logement pour rencontrer les autres volontaires internationaux. Nous vous fournirons les coordonnées complètes d’arrivée et de contact lors de la réservation de votre programme.

Hébergement & Repas

L’hébergement se fait en chambres partagées avec d’autres participants. Tout au long du voyage, vous serez logés dans des chambres partagées non mixtes.

Vos repas sont inclus pendant votre programme selon l’itinéraire.

Madagascar Discovery Itinerary

Day 1 (Sunday): Arrival and Airport Pick Up

On Sunday you will be picked up from Nosy Be Airport (NOS) and taken to your accommodation.

Time to get settled in the accommodation and rest from your journey.

Full arrival details will be provided upon booking, do not book your flight until you receive this.

Day 2 (Monday): Orientation and Local Hike

Morning
Orientation Day.
Today is your day to get to know your local coordinator who will introduce you to the do’s and don’ts, local culture, and your program.

We then head out to learn about the Island’s history, visit HellVile, and walk into the local markets and the supermarkets in the area.

Afternoon
After lunch, there is a hike to Mont Passot to view the beautiful sunset over Nosy Be.

Day 3 (Tuesday): NOSY Komba

Morning
The journey today is dedicated to the visit little islands of Nosy Komba (also called the Lemur Island!).

First, we will take the boat to Nosy Komba, known for its many small and inhabited beaches as well as for its emerald sea ringing the blissful beaches.

After this, we will take a hike to the highest point of the island through the lush green tropical-like rainforest.

Afternoon
At the viewpoint, we will have lunch and relax here for a while to absorb the splendid view, and then we hike back through the forest to take a boat back to NosyBe.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Project Work at Lemuria Land and Mangrove Conservation

Morning
In the morning we will visit the Lemuria land. Watch eight different species of lemurs among the ancient cananga trees at Lemuria Land, a private zoological and botanical park.

Chameleons, crocs, tortoises, Madagascar red toads, and Malagasy snakes call the site home, and you can also explore a collection of insects and beetles here.

Sample some ylang-ylang essential oils and rum made in the distillery located on the premises.

Afternoon
Today, you will also receive orientation and training about your volunteer work.
After lunch, we will have an orientation about the project.

Day 5 (Thursday): Project Work at Lemuria Land and Mangrove Conservation

Morning
Throughout the week, at 7:00 am, we will travel to lemur park and your work will start at about 8:30 am.

You will begin with cleaning the enclosures, there will be a 15-minute short break followed by collecting fruits, vegetables, and green leaves for the lemurs.

You will also get to prepare their feed and feed them. Your daily work at the
park ends at 12 noon.

Afternoon
After lunch, you will proceed with our coordinator to the mangrove conservation area to take part in the daily conservation activities at the plant nursery and as well as at the mangrove forest.

Daily activities will be planned by our coordinator on-site as per the requirements and needs.

Day 6 (Friday): Project Work at Lemuria Land and Mangrove Conservation

Morning
Travel to lemur park and your work will start at about 8:30 am. You will begin with cleaning the enclosures, there will be a 15-minute short break followed by collecting fruits, vegetables, and green leaves for the lemurs.
You will also get to prepare their feed and feed them. Your daily work at the
the park ends at 12 noon.

Day 7 (Saturday): LOKOBE RESERVE PARK TOUR

Today we take a journey to the east of the island dedicated to the visit of the national park of Lokobe.

According to Madagascar National Park Authority, this park is the home of 50 species of reptiles, 14 species of amphibians, 42 birds, and 3 species of primates living freely in their natural environment.

In this park, we will meet also the unique Eulemur macaco, a lemur endemic to Nosy Be only

Day 8 (Sunday): Free Day

Day off, time to relax after a full week of activities!

Day 9: (Monday): Project Work at Lemuria Land and Mangrove Conservation

Day 13: (Friday): NOSY Sakatia

Morning
Today is the time for snorkeling with sea turtles at Nosy Sakatia!

The island is located on the west coast of Nosy Be and is inside a preserved ecosystem, protected and classified due to the marvels it encloses.

Afternoon
A walking tour through the beautiful surroundings of this island will be you an opportunity to appreciate the flora and fauna on this island.

Day 14: (Saturday): NOSY Be & NOSY IRANJA

In the morning, we head to Nosy Iranja, two dreamy pristine islands separated by a long white sand strip, the main attraction and the ubiquitous photo that you’ve seen a million times of Nosy Be.

Iranja is also the main nesting place for big turtles. Visit the fishing villages afterward around the community and ecosystem, and walk on the cliffs and overlooks to enjoy a panoramic view from the historic and ancient lighthouse overlooking the channel of Mozambique.

Day 15: (Sunday): Departure

Sunday is the departure time.
There is an Airport Drop off Included.

Les participants de moins de 16 ans doivent être accompagnés d’un parent
Les participants âgés de 16 à 17 ans doivent avoir le consentement parental
Les participants sont tenus de fournir une vérification des antécédents criminels
Les participants sont tenus d’avoir une assurance voyage volontaire
Les participants pourraient avoir besoin de faire un test Covid avant le départ (nous vous en informerons)
